About Coach Grabovski

Mikhail Grabovski, a former NHL player with an illustrious career playing for the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Washington Capitals, New York Islanders, and many years with the Belarusian National team, brings his passion, expertise and wealth of experience to the development of aspiring hockey players.

Drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 2004, Grabovski won the Calder Cup for Montreal's AHL affiliate, the Hamilton Bulldogs. He led all NHL Eastern Conference rookies in scoring during his first full season for the Toronto Maples and went on to play over 500 games in the NHL.

After retiring from the NHL, Mikhail spent two seasons as an assistant coach with Dynamo Minsk of the KHL, and worked with the Belarus National Team as GM, winning the Channel One Cup. Most recently, Mikhail has focused his efforts in youth hockey development with the Klevr League’s U7 Northern Saints and the Markham Waxers U14 AAA.

"Since the beginning of my hockey career, I have always been very interested in the coaching process. It can be a very creative - a skill I used a lot as a player, creating new plays or drills for my line. The study of performance on and off the ice has always fascinated me. I have years of research compiled in my notebooks from every season of my career. I have brought the best lessons from a long list of amazing coaches, and continue to question and iterate on their work."

Despite his stature as one of the smaller players on the ice during his playing days, Grabovski's skill, tenacity, and strategic mindset have made him not only a fan favorite but also a trusted mentor for those seeking to excel in the sport.
